“My mother, who has been sick these past three years, says she was seeing people in her room,” says Rosalva. “She would see a tall man with a flower, which he would throw on her bed. She tried to wake up my father, but by then the man would be gone. After a few days, the same man appeared, but shorter and with a dozen roses. We used to think that it was because of her medication, but not long ago, the tall man appeared again and this time my mother woke my father and he saw the ghost. My mother doesn’t feel frightened by the ghosts, but she thinks that they are trying to tell her something. We want to know what’s going on.”

“My uncle, who lived in [northern Oklahoma] all his life, told a story about how when he was about ten years old,” says Okie. “He was going out to the outhouse one cold winter night and said that as he tried to open the outhouse door, there was something inside it, preventing it from opening. My uncle said he was sleepy and cold and just wanted to do his business and be done with it and get back into the warm house, so he pushed his way into the outhouse with a bit of force. “I worked for our local hospital cleaning the doctors’ offices after hours,” says Magi. “This was about 2 or 3 in the morning and the night was clear and warm.
